I am a new author, United States Marine Corps veteran, and Project Manager in the Financial industry. The values and principles of the Marine Corps strengthened the foundation of who I knew I wanted to be and how I wanted to live my life with honor and integrity. It reinforced my beliefs on this spiritual journey as a human being.
I was born into a large family in Toledo, Ohio, and grew up in Oregon, Ohio, a lakefront suburb of Toledo. I was active in sports, a friend to all I met, and became spiritually aware in my teens after a dream opened more than his eyes, discovering its name decades later. “Walking the Red Road” is a spiritual path, living, balancing, and attending to the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional well-being in creating a direct relationship with the Creator (Great Spirit, God, etc.). I am not perfect; no one is, but I do my best to do the right thing, even if it is hard. This spirituality saw me through a few dark times, including a few that were no longer after I wore the uniform.
I am not asking anyone to believe as I do, but life is not a spectator sport. If you are not living your life or do not feel you are, you probably need to ask yourself why. I began writing my own story because I did not think I would have the emotional strength to go into the same level of detail again with a potential significant other. Still, the universe, controlling the timing, had other plans. Whether you believe it or not, we are all teachers, students, and messengers who can preach a better sermon with our lives than with our lips. Most of the life lessons we learn happen after a painful or hurtful experience, but if we read or listened to the stories of those with experiences greater than our own, then maybe we could reduce the pain, hurt, or even the duration of a situation while still learning the lesson that it was meant to teach us.
I began to listen to the push and pull of the universe, which aided in my ability to help others when called upon. In writing my story, The Warrior Within, I wanted to share the details about my path and how it shaped me, including life lessons that might help another. I also know how many problems we face in this country and the world are manipulated by those only seeking power or the means to keep it. The only way we are going to rise above the method to their madness is to open more than our eyes and starve evil of the oxygen it needs to fuel its fire of fear and division as it seeks power no matter the cost or impact to the people or the planet. I start with a few of those problems to start a conversation and highlight potential high-level solutions. Still, the devil is in the details, which will require us to be brutally honest with our reflections if there is any chance to solve them in our lifetime.
In my second book, Dear Molly, I write about the pieces the universe began moving into place long before I felt the full force of that lightning strike, which helped provide me with purpose and passion, moving me in a way that once seemed unimaginable. I hope you find a connection within the pages that will inspire and move you in your heart’s direction. Especially the ladies, no matter your age, I hope you find ‘Chapter 6 – Me Too’ empowering. Only by shining a spotlight on things that want to remain hidden in the shadows will we be able to rid this world of it.
I understand now more than ever, as frustrating as it may be, that what we want may not be what we need, and in asking for what we need, we may find something we never knew we wanted. It is about the connections we make as spiritual beings on this human journey, be it a reason, a season, or a lifetime, that allow us to spread a little light, healing, and inspiring others by being the candle or the mirror that reflects it into the darkness for others to see a way out of their prison. I hope you will find more than a few things that will resonate with you in these books that provide hope, strength, courage, and resolve to rise above it and live the life the Creator intended for you.
